The city of Overland Park is a sprawling suburb built on 56 square miles of land in Johnson County. It is conveniently connected to other parts of the state by several major east-west and north-south corridors, including highways I-435, I-35 and I-69. Kansas City International Airport is a short 40-mile jaunt to the north. With more than 30 first-class hotels, 250 restaurants and several world-class shopping venues, such as Town Center Plaza and the Oak Park Mall, Overland Park is a destination worthy of visitors and residents alike.

Thanks to the location of the Sprint World Headquarters Campus, Overland Park is experiencing a boom in residential and commercial development. In recent years, city government has focused on continuing growth by constructing many beautiful office park developments to attract industry to the area, as well as offering many diverse and modern sub-divisions to house one of the most highly skilled and educated labor pools in the country. Industry giants, such as Sprint, Hallmark and Black & Veetch have a strong presence in Overland Park. Three area school districts -- Blue Valley, Shawnee Mission and Olathe -- are nationally recognized as three of the top 20 school districts in the country.

Other area attractions include the New Theatre Restaurant, a premiere dinner theater featuring Broadway comedies and musicals, Historic Downtown Overland Park and the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Garden. In nearby Kansas City, several other attractions include the famous Country Club Plaza, Worlds of Fun theme park, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and the Kansas City Zoo.
